Though born healthy, once this kitten in Chongqing, China, turned 1, he sprouted wing-shaped appendages on both sides of his spine. While the cause remains unknown, some speculated it could be a genetic change caused by chemical ingestion.

No zebras? No problem! Staffers at the Gaza City zoo couldn’t afford to import zebras to their facility, so instead, they colored two white donkeys with women’s hair dye and masking tape! Hey, it was better than their first solution: using paint.
PUPPY WHACKED BY WII
While playing her new Wii in January, a Michigan woman accidentally knocked her 5-month-old Sheltie puppy in the head, knocking him unconscious. The dog was actually dead for several minutes, but came back to life when a neighbor resuscitated him.
HORSE IS ALLERGIC TO GRASS
Though hard to conceive, this 5-year-old mare is still able to function, just by wearing a polyester wrap on her legs, a blanket, hood and mask — and taking 15 allergy pills a day. And to eat? A special mix of sugar beet chaff and soya oil.
PSYCHIC LOCATES CHIHUAHUA
We’re not in Kansas anymore! After 5-lb. Chihuahua Tinkerbell was blown away in a Michigan storm, her owners hired a pet psychic, who led them to their unharmed — though frightened — dog in a field a half-mile away from where she went missing.
FOX STEALS 120 SHOES
She may not be Carrie Bradshaw, but one fox in Germany (not pictured) had quite the penchant for shoes — stealing 120 of them! Officials located the animal’s den, finding all the shoes intact, with bite marks on some laces. They were eventually returned to their owners.
PUPPY SURVIVES TOILET FLUSH
A 1-week-old cocker spaniel had a brush — er, flush — with death, when his 4-year-old owner flushed him down the toilet in an attempt to bathe him. Plumbing specialists located the pup some 20 yards away and were able to rescue him.
DOG-KANGAROOS GAIN FAME
Bambi and Cute of Quezon City, Philippines, are known to locals as “dog-kangaroos,” thanks to their missing limbs and ability to hop on their hind legs. Owned by street vendor Lope Tulipas, the pups are the talk of the town!
CAT-SIZED RAT FOUND
File this under “eww:” A BBC television crew filming deep in the jungles of Papua, New Guinea, discovered a new species of giant rat that’s about the size of a cat. The animal, named the Bosavi wooly rat, measures 32 inches long and weighs 3.3 lbs.
CHIHUAHUA HELD AT GUNPOINT
A Sydney, Australia, family selling Chihuahua puppies was taken by surprise when a potential buyer pulled a gun on them in their home. Luckily, they were able to restrain her until police arrived — and the pint-sized puppy was unharmed.
